Past Events
Birds Eye View has toured nationally and internationally, partnering with a wide range of cinema venues, film and arts festivals, including Cannes film festival, Latitude arts festival, and the Glasgow Film Theatre.
Events include: showcase screenings of outstanding films, introduced by special guests and with director Q&As; specially commissioned live music featuring cutting-edge female musicians, and innovative, inspirational panel discussions with leaders in their fields.

Dartington

The Birds Eye View Sound and Silents strand fuses silent film and live musical accompaniment to create a unique cinematic experience. My Best Girl, accompanied by the Elysian Quartet was originally commissioned for the BEV Festival in 2008 where it was a huge success.
Branchage Jersey International Film Festival

Branchage Jersey International Film Festival is an annual, vibrant, boutique film festival, combining exciting, engaging films with live music events.
With events taking place in some of the most beautiful, historic and iconic landmarks of Jersey, Branchage creates unique and atmospheric cinema treats in strange and wonderful locations dotted across the island.
Glasgow
GFT and CCA, Glasgow, 18th - 21st November 2009
Birds Eye View hits Glasgow with a four day feast of events for film lovers and budding filmmakers. The tour includes a Sound and Silent event, a shorts showcase followed by Q&A session with Director Annie Griffin, Festival (2005), a documentary filmmakers' masterclass and a producers' panel discussion on opportunities for women in film.
Newcastle

BEV lands in the North East bringing new opportunities for women filmmakers with a 'Routes into Filmmaking' panel discussion followed by a 'Pitch and Connect' session (a chance to develop your film career speed dating style!) all rounded off with a networking event.

Birds Eye View returned to the Latitude Festival in 2009 with another fab line-up from our festival programme. The audience enjoyed the enigmatic Bishi with Neil Kaczor and Zongamin performing alongside 1923 cinema classic Salome, starring mesmeric lesbian Hollywood icon Alla Nazimova. BEV walso presented short films Peter and Ben, and The Lake.

UK Film Council PavilionOn Saturday 16th May Birds Eye View brought together an inspirational panel discussion to celebrate the success of the few women who made it into the 2009 Cannes programme. The panel was chaired by BEV founder & director, Rachel Millward.

BEV screens with Cannes in a Van
The smallest mobile film festival in the world returned to the biggest and most prestigious, the Cannes Film Festival... and BEV was there with a selection of its own superb international shorts by women directors to join in the fun.

Warwick Arts Centre, May 21st
Audiences in the Midlands visited the fabulous Warwick Arts Centre to enjoy a wonderful selection of short films from the UK's hottest emerging talent, which closed BEV's 2009 festival.
Belfast Queens Film Theatre
May 15th-17th
BEV visited Belfast for the first time with a selection of films from our 2009 festival, including delicious French comedy Grown Ups, inspirational doc The Time of Their Lives and the breath-taking shorts programme from our opening night. Plus three femmes fatales classics from our Screen Seductresses retrospective in partnership with the BFI, and a panel discussion that provided top tips and inspiring debate.
