Birds Eye View and Cineformation co-present a special masterclass with Bristol-based filmmaker Philippa Lowthorpe.Cineformation is a forum for independent film & video makers offering an opportunity for writers, producers, directors, actors, crew & enthusiasts to meet, share ideas, screen films and foster an active vibrant creative frenzy of filmmaking in the South West.
Philippa Lowthorpe started out as a documentary maker and now develops and directs drama. Her documentary credits include her cult classic Three Salons at the Seaside and Remember the Family a powerful evocation of family break up for Storyville. In her dramas she has always pushed the boundaries between fact and fiction, from ordinary people playing versions of themselves in Eight Hours from Paris to actors improvising period drama in her critically acclaimed The Other Boleyn Girl. Her other drama credits include Beau Brummell starring James Purefoy and Phil Davies and Sex, the City and Me starring Sarah Lancashire and Sarah Parish. Philippa is currently in preproduction of a 3 part drama for BBC 1 which she has researched and will direct. She has an 8 part drama series for BBC in development through Kudos, a single with in house BBC drama and a series with Andy Harries new company Left Bank Pictures, also for the BBC.
Hosted by Bristol-based Theatre Writer and Director Anna Farthing, this occasion is a must for any aspiring filmmakers or screenwriters in the South West.
