Our second collection of the most diverse, innovative short films by women from around the world, includes UK premiere of reverse narrative Israeli drama, hard-hitting snapshots documenting the life of a young cancer sufferer, brilliant Australian family drama and a heart-warming Polish doc about sweet, sweet love.

Abigail
(dir. Gil Asheri, Israel 2006 17')

Abigail will do almost anything to avoid being alone. In her desperation, she reappears in Dubie's life and takes him on a journey. This expedition, however, ends in an unexpected twist of events. Or should we say begins…

From The Lives of Mothers
(dir. Kristina Dufkova, Czech Republic 2006 7'5)

Those little ones turn your lives upside down. In this thoughtful little animation, moments are captured from the lives of mothers.

Snapshots From Reality
(dir. Johanna St Michaels Sweden 2006 9')

‘I met Jackie through a common friend. Two weeks earlier, she had been diagnosed with uterine cancer and now wanted her body documented before treatment. I wanted to photograph Jackie to show how fragile life is and how quickly everything can change’. Johanna St. Michaels (dir.)
Lamplighters
(dir. Kalina Alabrudzinska, Poland 2006 3')

A simple and heart-warming love story about a middle-aged couple who have been lighting the street lamps together for over 25 years.
Sexy Thing
(dir. Denie Pentecost, Australia 2006 14')

Standing on the hot metal roof of the garden shed, twelve-year old Georgie
watches the endless blue sea of a summer sky. The day ahead will change everything forever.
