DOCSPOT: FRANNY ARMSTRONG & THE AGE OF STUPID

ICA 2
Thursday 13 March 8.30PM

Hosted by Beadie Finzi, Franny Armstrong talks about her almost-finished three-year climate change epic The Age of Stupid , with preview clips, tips and Q&A

The Age of Stupid is a documentary-animation hybrid, filmed in Nigeria, India, New Orleans, Iraq and Bedford. Featuring Pete Postlethwaite living in the devastated world of 2055, its asks: “Why didn't we stop climate change while we had the chance?”

Former drummer Franny Armstrong accidentally became a filmmaker. Her no-budget, ten-year doc, McLibel has been watched by 35 million people and featured in the BFI's "Ten Documentaries Which Shook The World" season. Since 2004, she's been filming her new climate change epic, The Age of Stupid, in Nigeria, India, New Orleans, Iraq, The Alps and Bedford.

Beadie Finzi produced Unknown White Male and is now directing two new films, The Hunger Season for More 4 and Vida Ballet for Channel 4 and Arte France. Beadie is also a director of the Channel 4 British Documentary Film Foundation, and the festival director for BRITDOC
