Sound and Silents
BEV Sound & Silents presents classic silent films by pioneering women filmmakers alongside specially commissioned scores by cutting-edge contemporary female musicians. S&S has fast become one of the Festival's most popular strands and many of the collaborations have toured the UK.
Each programme is united under a special theme; the 2008 strand focussed on women in comedy with Clowning Glories, the 2009 took a twist for Screen Seductresses: Vamps, Vixens and Femmes Fatales; 2010 celebrated an iconic female figure in Blonde Crazy and 2011 took a darker turn for Bloody Women: From Gothic To Horror.
