Tuesday sees the original tale of seductress Roxie Hart, with live accompaniment from the dark and dreamy Patti Plinko. Plus an on screen introduction from West End star Ruthie Henshall (the first-ever and current star of Chicago in London!)
Thursday sees laugh-a-minute comedy The Patsy with live accompaniment from jazz folk-diva Gwyneth Herbert and an onstage introduction from the film's name sake and British star Patsy Kensit.

Our 2010 Festival party commences at 7pm in the ICA theatre this Thursday 11th. The culmination of a sizzling festival will see a night of live music, acts & more from some of the most talented ladies in town. Expect vixen-fronted electro punk, mesmerizing, seductive vocalists, hot tipped dirty/beautiful beats, atmospheric romantic pop and the hot lady DJs who i-D magazine said “have London under their thumb” plus real time drawing in response to music & ultra-glam facepainting. |

Wanuri Kahiu has come all the way from Kenya to be at the festival. On Wednesday, after the screening of her multi award-winning feature, From A Whisper, set in the wake of the bombing of the US Embassy in Nairobi in 1998, she will be giving a Q&A. And also after our Kenyan Double Bill on Thursday night which presents her doc Wangari Maathai: For our Land. The other half of the bill is Judy Kibinge's stylish drama about the underbelly of contemporary Kenya, based on a graphic novel; Killer Necklace. |
