Sound and Silents
Live Music to Silent Film
BEV presents adventurous new musical commissions performed live to classic silent films at BFI Southbank and the Southbank Centre. With the 2011 silents taking a darker twist for Bloody Women: From Gothic To Horror, our musicians are bound to have some fun.
Once again, BEV is working with some of the UK's most cutting-edge contemporary female musicians. We're thrilled to announce that our 2011 line-up will include musical innovator, Grammy and Ivor Novello award-winner Imogen Heap, experimental pop sensation Micachu, composer and double-bassist Aristazabel Hawkes of Mercury and Brit Award-nominated band Guillemots, acclaimed contemporary folk artist Blue Roses (aka Laura Groves), pianist Lola Perrin, multi-instrumnetalist and vocalist Seaming To and rising star Tara Busch.
The silent film programme is curated by Kelly Robinson.
