Experience m:scapes and learn how to make them yourself.
This workshop will introduce mediascapes: located media experiences, where the 'audience' wanders the landscape, triggering sounds and images as they move, Attendees will be able to experience an mscape and be shown how they might construct one using free software. Constance Fleuriot
Constance is a pervasive media practitioner and consultant who has facilitated location-based mixed-media projects with a variety of user communities since the early days of Mobile Bristol, the forerunner of the HP labs mscape project. She has a tendency to work on projects where she can show people of all ages that they can make this stuff too and that we can all get creative with technology.
The Pervasive Media Studio
The Pervasive Media Studio brings together creative practice and technological innovation to produce the content, applications and experiences of the future. Built on the legacy of Mobile Bristol, the Studio is a collaboration by Watershed and HP Labs with support from the South West Regional Development Agency. The Studio offers research, project development space, a wide variety of workshops, seminars and public events and a creative learning programme for education and community groups.
