Last Laugh film projects announced, plus Last Laugh mini-doc live online

Published on March 24, 2009 | Written By Birds Eye View

On 4th February 2009, the  Last Laugh participants pitched 23 ideas to Warp X.  We’re very excited to let you know that four projects have been selected for development. These are:

Are You Ready? by Kate Hardie and Catherine Shepherd

Cecily Soames – Touch My Fire by Julia Davis

Queen of Comedy by Oriane Messina, Lucy Porter and Faye Rusling

and for Warp Films, Fag Mountain by Sally Phillips

Back in January, Caroline Cooper Charles (Head of Development at Warp X and Birds Eye View board member) wrote about what fun was had on the Last Laugh creative  development residential weekend for the BEV blog (read it here).

And now we have some of the highlights of that weekend on video (thanks to Red Banana for big task of editing together!), along with footage from the launch and interviews with the abundance of talented people that have been involved,  to show you a little what Last Laugh is about. Here it is:

Last Laugh is the first BEV Lab, a new comedy feature film development initiative from Warp X and Birds Eye View, supported by Skillset. To read more about the scheme, visit the Training section of our blog here.

And a little bit more news for you… Screen International wrote about Last Laugh, in an article highlighting opportunities for the underrepresented in the film industry, and includes an interview with Kate Hardy and Catherine Shephard. Have a read of the article, available to download on our press coverage page.
