Nest Members win tickets to The Round Up
BEV has teamed up with Revolver for our special preview of French box office hit The Round Up, plus a Q&A with director Roselyne Bosch. We have a whopping TWENTY tickets available to the event at 6PM, 16th June at the Everyman Cinema, Hampstead for BEV Nest Members.
One of the box office hits of the year in France, The Round Up (La Rafle) is a meticulously researched account of the events of July 1942, when more than 13,000 Jewish men, women and children were rounded up from the streets of Paris and taken to the notorious Vel’ d’Hiv stadium. Told through the eyes of Jewish families by a stellar cast including Jean Reno (The Da Vinci Code), Gad Elmaleh (Comme ton Pére) and Mélanie Laurent (Inglorious Basterds), The Round Up is a powerful drama about one of the most disturbing episodes of modern French history.
Director Roselyne Bosch is an investigative journalist, best known for ANIMAL (2005), BIMBOLAND (1998), EN PLEIN COEUR (1998), 1942: CONQUEST OF PARADISE (1992) and HOTEL DE POLICE (1985). Other directorial credits include RASPOUTINE (due 2012) and ANIMAL (2005). After the screening Bosch will be joined by BEV Head of Programming Gali Gold to discuss her work as a writer/director, the challenges of representing Holocaust stories on film, and the responses the film received from audiences and critics. The Round Up is in selected cinemas nationwide from 17th June.
